Design and Implementation of a Low Budget Time-Saving Semi Automatic Alarm Response System under Legit Systems Ltd Uganda
Abstract
This report presents the successful implementation of a Low Budget Time-Saving Semi-Automatic Alarm Response System prototype, which addresses the pressing need for improved security measures. The system design encompasses a comprehensive integration of hardware and software components, including a command application, master web server, responder application, and various sensors. The project's objectives aimed to develop a cost-effective solution that maximizes resource utilization while minimizing response times. By leveraging existing technologies and adopting a systematic approach, the project achieved remarkable outcomes in enhancing security effectiveness and optimizing alarm response efficiency. The integration of off-the-shelf Android devices and Google Maps provided real-time tracking of responders, enabling efficient resource allocation. The system's hardware elements, such as panic buttons and motion sensors, ensured comprehensive alarm detection and robust security. Additionally, the project showcased the significance of adhering to a structured software engineering cycle and received positive feedback from users and stakeholders. The report concludes by highlighting the project's achievements, including cost-effectiveness, semi-automation, and time-saving measures, and emphasizing its potential for broader implementation in addressing security challenges.
