Effects of Geomagnetic storms on the total Electron content of the Ionosphere.
Abstract
The Earth's ionosphere, vital for communication, navigation, and satellite-based technologies, faces regular disruptions from geomagnetic storms triggered by coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and solar flares. These disturbances impact the Total Electron Content (TEC) of the ionosphere, influencing the operations of various systems and technologies. This project focuses on assessing the effects of geomagnetic storms during August 2010, aiming to mitigate their impact on communication, navigation systems, and satellite technologies. The study's significance lies in enhancing our understanding of the relationship between ionospheric TEC and geomagnetic storm occurrence, providing valuable insights for constructing resilient telecommunication systems capable of withstanding such hazards. Engineers can benefit from this research, ensuring the development of robust systems resilient to the disruptive nature of geomagnetic storms.
