An exploration of the form and function of imagery in the use of proverbs : a study of selected proverbs of the Ateso
Abstract
This dissertation seeks to explore the different forms and functions of imagery in proverbs in the case of selected Ateso proverbs. To establish this, I had discussions with elderly people from Teso region in different communities aged above 50 years and above including the young people. The methods I used to collect data are, questionnaires, observations, interviews and internet search. The collected data was put through thorough analysis with reference to various scholars who also carried out research related to the topic that this research handles. Findings from the research were then used to make conclusions and recommendations.
