dc.description.abstractThe study sets to analyse irony used in kinyankole proverbs focusing on theme of hard work and child upbringing, This research sets to use only two forms of irony that is verbal and situational irony.This research showed me the ability to research on Proverbs at the mind of my culture.In this very research I wrote and translated the proverbs depicting meaning though irony tends to depict the surface meaning rather than the underlying meaning.en_US
