The purpose of this study was to find out the determinants of contraceptive methods among women in the reproductive age. The study focused on four variables of women's age, education level, marital status and place of residence and these were categorized into competence, goals, evaluation and access factors (Bulatao 1989). The research study used a sample of 100 observations obtained from Makerere university Hospital for the period August 2023 up to January 2024. Data Analysis was done at univariate (Descriptive Statistics), bivariate (Fishers Exact Chi-Square) and multivariate (multi-nominal logistic regression) levels using Stata and SPSS software to explore the relationship between the explanatory variables and the response variable. The injectable were the most preferred method 33%, implants 21%, male condoms 19%, non-use 8% and pills 19% as shown in the descriptive statistics. The fishers exact Chi-Square test established a statistically significant relationship between the independent variables and method choice. The study further recommends improving access for girls and women into schools to boost their knowledge on modern contraceptives.en_US
