dc.description.abstractThis project considers the improvement in efficiency of a Pico hydropower system by use of a battery aimed at utilizing power wasted in the dump loads. The battery charges during the off peak hours and discharges during the on peak hours. During the on peak hours, supply of power is from both the battery and the generation station. This allows the consumers to be connected at the same time when the fridge is operating which is not the case with the current operating system.
