DESIGN OF A MICRO GRID MONITORING SYSTEM ON MOBILE PLATFORMS

This project is based on designing and implementing a micro grid monitoring system on mobile platforms. Micro grids in Uganda lack monitoring systems and rely on infrequent visits by appropriate personnel which brings about a number of challenges such as lack of real-time information about status of the system, increased time to resolve a fault due to need for patrolling the entire system, decline in reliability and efficiency of the grid since it’s not under constant supervision. The monitoring system will be used to monitor real-time operation of the micro grid by monitoring parameters like voltages, currents, power and the status of components of the grid. There is need to be able to monitor the status of the whole system remotely from anywhere and at any time as this reduces the havoc of visiting the site and checking for faults. (2.043Mb)
