dc.description.abstract | This report is a product of a six months research period from October, 2017 to May, 2018 and contains information about assessing the impact of variation orders on the construction cost as a measure of project performance in Uganda. The research was done in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the award of a Bachelor‘s degree in Quantity surveying at Makerere University.
This report brings together some of the most influential and commonly cited causes and effects of variations on construction projects and in particular the impact of variation orders on the construction cost of a project.
This report has five chapters as explained below:
Chapter one describes the general introduction to this research including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives of the study, scope of the study and the significance of this research.
Chapter two provides the literature related to the topic of study which guided the area (direction) of focus during this study. It also provides definitions of the key words in this study.
Chapter three discusses the methodology explaining the type of research, data collection method, data types, data collection instruments, target population, sampling frame, sampling method, sample size, data analysis and ethical considerations.
Chapter four discusses the findings and analysis which shows the results from the field and their implications from which conclusions were made.
Chapter five lays down the observations made during the research period, conclusion and recommendations. | |
