    Emotional Intelligence and Organisational Commitment of Prison Workers at Machion Bay Hospital Luzira

    Abstract
    The study examined the relationship between Emotional intelligence and Organizational commitment among employees of Machion Bay Hospital Luzira. The following objectives guided the study; the study sought to find out the levels of Emotional intelligence among employees of Machion Bay Hospital, to find out the level of organisational commitment among employees of Machion Bay hospital and to find out whether Emotional intelligence and organisational commitment are related. A correlation study design was used in the study to establish the relationship between Emotional intelligence and organisational commitment. This information was coded and edited to obtain meaningful data. The data was then analyzed using Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient under the statistical package for social scientists version 21. The study findings showed a positive relationship between Emotional intelligence and organisational commitment. (r=.245*, p<0.05). Therefore basing on the findings it was concluded that Emotional intelligence influences organisational commitment among employees of Machion Bay hospital Luzira.
