Improving the efficiency of steam systems for process heating: a case study of Century Bottling Company Limited, Namanve Plant, Uganda.
Abstract
Introduction:
The fuel used in the boilers at CBC is furnace oil. The efficiency is measured as a ratio of the amount of product produced to the amount of fuel used. This method of efficiency calculation is not accurate as it ignores a number of losses along the steam lines and fuel properties. Main objective:
To analyse the steam energy and cost saving potential of industrial steam systems in Uganda by implementing energy efficiency practices.
Conclusion:
The status of the steam energy efficiency has been analysed at Century Bottling Company as a case study. The various proposed steam energy efficiency practices and saving potential have also been identified.
