dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between Grit, sexual risky behavior and peer influence. The objectives of the study were to examine the relationship between grit and risky sexual behavior among secondary students and to investigate the relationship between grit and peer influence among secondary students. It was also to assess the relationship between grit and peer influence among secondary students. A quantitative study design was used in the study. It focused on correlation study design to assess the relationship among all the variables. A sample size of 268 school going children were reached by the use of self-administered questionnaires (The 12 item Grit Scale, Peer influence Scale and Safe sex Behavior Questionnaire) Data collected was analyzed and processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. (SPSS) in particular Pearson product moment correlation coefficient was used to test the hypotheses. There was a significant relationship between Grit and peer influence. However, there was no significant relationship between Grit and sexual risky behavior. Furthermore no significant relationship between peer influence and sexual risky behavior. In conclusion, there was no significant relationship between grit and risky sexual behavior, grit and peer influence there was relationship and peer influence and risky sexual behavior had no significant relationship.en_US
