This thesis explains the Sub-6GHz empirical pathloss model deployment in Uganda with the case study being Makerere university. This empirical pathloss model is based on observations and measurements taken under different environmental conditions while considering both line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight scenarios. The pathloss model determines the signal strength with respect to various frequency ranges and distance for wireless network between the transmitter and the receiver. The signal strength is affected by the attenuation caused by the dissipation of the power radiated by the transmitter as well as effects of the propagation channel characteristics which include absorption, reflection, scattering, and diffraction as a result of tall trees, buildings, cars, rain and wind which cause multipath propagation, shadowing, fading and co-channel interference. It also describes the methodology used to achieve this pathloss model.en_US
