In order to determine the factors influencing one’s participation in other activities apart from agriculture, a quantitative research was conducted. This was conducted using the questionnaire method where a questionnaire was administered to a randomly selected sample of 125 respondents in Kirowooza parish and Kaliro sub county, Kabula County, Lyantonde district. Using the STATA application, descriptive statistics, chi-square and logistic regression were used to analyze the data. From the study findings, participation in other activities was influenced by gender, age, education and experience in agriculture (P-value = 0.045, 0.024, 0.009 and 0.000 respectively). The study revealed that men participate more in other activities compared to women (33.6 percent). People aged 25-34 and the degree holders are more likely to participate in other activities (odds ratios = 1.38 and 1.81 respectively). The research also revealed that more years of practicing agriculture lessen one’s participation in other activities (odds ratio = 0.85). Based on the results from the analysis, there are measures that have to be considered in order to raise participation in other activities amongst the people of Lyantonde. The government needs to invest more in education in Lyantonde in order to equip people with skills that qualify them for other activities.en_US
