Inventory refers to the stock of physical items such as materials, components, work-in progress, finished goods, etc., held at a specific location at a specific time(Chase, 1998). It could also refer to the merchandise that is purchased and/or produced and stored for eventual sale. In business accounts, inventory usually refers to the value of stocks, as distinct from fixed assets. This would include items which are held for sale in the ordinary course of business or which are in the process of production for the purpose of sale, or which are to be used in the production of goods or services which will be for sale. A stationery shop is one that deals in transactions of such scholastic materials as manila papers, books, chalk, box files, office glue are picked at regular intervals and also conducts services for example printing, binding, scanning to mention but a few. As such, the inventory handling process turns out to be hectic and tiresome due to many transactions and thus the need of automation of work through implementation of a system there by reducing complexity and improving efficiency in inventory management. This project entails the development and implementation of a computerized sales and inventory Management System aimed at automating operations of Good Hope General Enterprise. It has been designed using Java with Java NetBeans as the design environment and SQL workbench as the database that implements most of the SQL standard, using a dynamically and weakly typed SQL syntax. The system enables efficiency in operations at the enterprise, avails staff with information ahead of time and also ensure the automatic generation of reports for purposes of review by all stakeholders. The system ought to be used by the staff and management of the business into which they shall input their login credentials i.e. email address and password. After which they shall be in position to record daily transaction, generate reports for a given time interval among othersen_US
