A computerized records and tracking information management system for Rakai Health Sciences Program
Abstract
Records management evolved from the development of archives in the United States government following World War II. With the explosion of paper records during that war, better systems of management were needed to retain and make the records available for current use. Records managers are found in all types of organizations, including business, government, and nonprofit sectors; To locate a file in a given moment is one of the most tedious works today in almost all the organizations which requires separate manpower in almost all the departments the organization. It’s more problematic when the organization has a number of departments, yet movement of files is required. Due to file movements, much time is wasted in searching for the files without guarantee of getting them within the time limit. It becomes worse when the reports about the movement of the files are required. Like the number of files moving within specific time duration, file allocated to any employee and whether the file has been forwarded or not. Assessing all the problems. It therefore calls for a computerized records and tracking information management system for an organization. It is an application system which tracks the movements of the census and survey forms in the records section of data and Bio-statistics department RHSP.
