    Evaluating the procurement process for imported construction materials in Uganda

    Abstract
    This report comprises of five chapters clearly explaining in details the procurement process for imported construction materials in Uganda. The data was collected from various fields that included business men and different construction companies. Chapter one simply describes the back ground of both procurement and imported construction materials in Uganda, problem statement, major specific objective, specific objectives, justification, scope of study, significance and finally the definition terms as far as procurement process is concerned. Chapter two is comprised of literature review which further explains some of the imported construction materials like cement, aggregates (sand & gravel), metal products, reinforced steel bars and plastic products. It is also explaining correlation methods, classification of imported construction materials using ABC analysis as well as procurement stages. Chapter three simply describes the methodology that further explains the research design, quantitative & qualitative research, study population, study sample, data collection, data analysis and finally report generation. Chapter four is comprised of the findings and results obtained from various fields of study, data analysis, demographic information, stages under procurement process as well as correlation results. Chapter five tries to give the possible conclusions basing on each specific objective as stated in chapter one and finally suggest areas of improvement in the procurement process (recommendations).
