dc.description.abstract | Monitoring individual student contribution towards their projects is difficult for supervisors during Final Year Project Implementation. In the current
system of monitoring students Final Year Projects, supervisors arrange physical meetings with the different groups they supervise to monitor their progress
in the Final Year Project, however, it is difficult for the supervisors to know
each students contribution towards their group project as you may find it is
one student in the group who is actively participating in the development of
the project. Therefore is need for a system that can provide a more effective
monitoring of student contribution towards their projects.
To solve the above problem, we have decided to develop a student project
monitoring system to aid in the monitoring of final year projects of students.
The system works in a way that supervisors and student register themselves on
the system. Students are allowed to form groups and these groups are assigned
supervisors by the Admin. Students can log in into the system as individuals
and submit links to their Github or source code files to enable the supervisor
to monitor each students contribution.
This report describes the development of a Student Project Monitoring System, a web application designed to help in monitoring individual Student contribution towards their projects. It describes the problem being addressed,
objectives intended for the project and a review on the functionality of existing
related systems. | en_US |
