The leading use of solar power as a source of energy is lighting in most households in Mbarara district as a whole. Though, there are some households that use solar energy for business like in bar to operate machines and in solar to operate shaving machines. According to 100 households selected during my data collecting, Analysis made shows that 80% of the households, in Mbarara district are solar energy for many purposes. And 99% of the 80% households use solar energy for lighting. It is proved that solar has largely contributed to the well being of people in Mbarara as a whole and also on education which has improved on academic performance in Mbarara district schools. The 20% of the households that don’t use solar energy, its because they don’t have enough money to access the solar equipment from which they request the solar companies and government to intervene and help them access solar equipment also. Most of the solar companies operating in Mbarara are solar Red pay, M-coppers and so light.en_US
