Charging a thermal energy storage system without pump
Abstract
In Uganda, biomass is about 92% of the total primary energy consumption in form of rewood George [2002], charcoal and crop wastes especially for cooking The use of re wood and charcoal has increased the rate of deforestation which negatively affects climate changes within the region In addition, the use of charcoal and rewood as sources of energy leads to emission of smoke in the atmosphere causing air pollution However there are other sources of energy that are clean and renewable like solar energy,
wind, hydro. And solar energy is the most probable clean and renewable source of energy since in Uganda has a lot of sunshine Electricity from solar energy can used in solar cooker and other domestic electric appliances But due to intermittency in availability and constant variation in solar radiation, TES has found its place in thermodynamic systemSarbu and Sebarchievici [2018]. TES not only reduce the discrepancy between the demand supply by conserving energy, but also improves the performance and thermal reliability of the system Therefore designing e cient and economic TES system is of high
importance Sarbu and Sebarchievici [2018] For that matter thermal energy storage systems are being designed and
