Joints ventures have become increasingly common, because of the complexity and challenges associated with the delivery of construction projects globally. However, it has been established that joint venture projects have experienced unsatisfactory performance leading to clients’ dissatisfaction. The purpose of this study is therefore to assess the success factors influencing the performance of construction joint venture projects in Uganda under the objectives, assessing the time taken to execute work, examining the benefits associated with construction joint ventures, determining the cost involved under construction joint ventures and examining the quality of work executed under construction joint ventures. The JVC, unlike a partnership, have a distinct legal entity and also have a certain time limit. Joint venture provides strength in terms of achieving goals to construction companies. It offers a unique opportunity to combine the distinctive competencies and the complementary skills of participating firms. The option such as risk reduction, sources of finance, access to market can make joint venture more attractive option. However, problems could occur due to lack of trust between the partners and lack of strong and effective leadership. Paying great attention to the management of human resources and facilitating team building exercises was considered critical for success. Data collection involved using a structured questionnaire survey administered to the construction professionals. Prior to the main study, a content validity of the questionnaire was achieved using a pilot study. The data was collected from 105 conveniently sampled respondents, and analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The data collected was analyzed by converting it into quantitative values using percentage analysis and graph representation. The findings of this study could provide useful insights towards researchers into shaping their research foci under the umbrella of CJVs to suit the demands of both the literature base and the real construction market.en_US
