dc.description.abstractThe banking industry has been tremendously influenced by technological advancements just like the other aspects of life. The emergence of e-banking has significantly redefined and transformed banks’ operations. This study therefore aims at analyzing the effect of e-banking on commercial banking services. The study used a descriptive survey design, since its dealing more with defined description of the facts and characteristics of the population at study. Results from the study show that majority of the respondents had partial knowledge about visiting centenary bank website for information on banking products, viewing the account statement online, opening a RD/Fixed deposit through online and paying bills using online banking. Results from the study showed that majority of the respondents agreed that It is safe providing corporate over internet banking, that Internet banking is secure, strongly agreed to trusting in ability of the bank to protect their confidentiality, Results also showed that there is no significant relationship between education and one’s knowledge about impact of E-Banking on banking services. Results also showed that there is no significant relationship between years spent at the bank and how long one has spent with the bank and the impact of E-Banking on banking services and this is because p-value>0.05. Results also showed that there was a significance relationship between Sources through which Information on Internet Banking Services was known to customers and e-banking impact on banking services. People’s perception and attitude also had a significance relationship with e banking. The study recommended the study recommends that the banking industry’s policy makers and regulators also need to cogitate on e-banking as a major input when crafting guidelines to regulate the industry. This is as a result of the major influence that technology has on the performance of the commercial banks. As the country continues to take on developing partners to accentuate its technological capacity, banks will continue to increasingly leverage on technology to improve their performance notwithstanding the risks associateden_US
