dc.description.abstractThis study sought to investigate the factors affecting student dropout in college of education at Makerere University, . This was a descriptive-survey study. Based on Cochran sampling formula, 80 students dropout (49 female and 31 male respondents) were selected as the study sample using simple random sampling technique. The results showed that from the perspective of student dropout, cultural, social and economic factors play a larger role in the student dropout in college of education at Makerere University. Recognition and pathology of cultural, social and economic factors can increase persistence rate and reduce the dropout rate in Makerere University.
