Design of a Neilsen Lohse footbridge along Bombo Road at YMCA
Abstract
Along Bombo road at YMCA, there are high volumes of vehicular and pedestrian traffic which jeopardizes pedestrian safety and increases travel times for the drivers. Also, there is a substandard pedestrian refuge which does not effectively protect the pedestrians. An arch pedestrian footbridge is proposed to curb this problem.
This report discusses the methodology of the design and analyses the results. Chapter one introduces the problem and provides the scope of design. Chapter two gives the reader a detailed review of the literature and chapter three discusses the results from the analysis. The detailed analysis calcuations are provided in the appendix.
