The construction industry is one of the key national development priorities in most economies. The construction industry plays a vital role in the socioeconomic development of the country and has several multiplier effects among which include fixed capital accumulation, economic growth and also well known for its great contribution to the high volumes of labor employed in the economy. the construction industry in Uganda uses too much labor as compared to machinery. Studies have been carried out and it has been found out that productivity levels are low which in turn hinders the success of the project in terms of time, cost and quality. This research mainly aims at assessing labor management and productivity on construction sites in Uganda and tries to find out what mainly affects productivity of labor on sites and how well these issues can be handled. Data was collected by use of online surveys, questionnaires and interviews. Consultants, site managers, engineers and front-line workers were contacted in providing relevant results to the research. It was found out that productivity levels are still low as compared to the desired levels. Scheduling of work, availability of tools and materials as well as training of labor were the highest ranking factors found ass affecting productivity of labor.en_US
