dc.description.abstractThe study was about Financial Literacy and Savings Culture of Mobile Money Operators (MMO) at MTC. The purpose of the study was to examine how financial Literacy Promotes savings Culture of Mobile Money Operators with a view of ensuring access to credit facilities, liquidity, growth and expansion at Mpala Trading Centre by giving them knowledge, skills and tools to sustainably manage their Mobile Money businesses. It therefore focused on the following objectives: 1. To examine how financial planning contributes to liquidity of mobile money operators at Mpala Trading Centre. 2. To analyze how budgeting contributes to easy access to credit by mobile money operators at Mpala Trading Centre. 3. To assess how investment contributes to the growth and expansion of mobile money operators’ businesses at Mpala Trading Centre. 4. To examine how financial planning contributes to liquidity of mobile money operators at Mpala Trading Centre. 5. To analyze how budgeting contributes to easy access to credit by mobile money operators at Mpala Trading Centre. 6. To assess how investment contributes to the growth and expansion of mobile money operators’ businesses at Mpala Trading Centre. Qualitative approach was used to provide explanations on the feelings, beliefs and attitudes of Mpala Trading Centre (MTC), about financial literacy and saving culture. The quantitative approach on the other hand used numerals in terms of tables data presentation. The targeted population was 120 from which a sample size of 54 was determined using the adjusted sample size method, the study also used purposive and simple random sampling techniques as well as questionnaires as data collection obtain data from primary sources. Thestudyfoundoutthatmobilemoneyoperatorssetgoalstoguidefinancialdecisions, Save for the future and attain set goals. In conclusion, financial literacy contributes to savings culture of mobile money operators at Mpala Trading Centre. The study recommended that, Mobile Money Operators should acquire and be given knowledge, skills, training and tools to manage their businesses which should be supplemented by financial information and saving for the future good practices for promoting savings culture and should increase their networks via establishment of agencies. The study also came up with areas for further research which include; 1. Financial planning and Liquidity of Small and Medium Enterprises in Uganda. 2. Budgeting and Access to Credit by Business Enterprises in Uganda. 3. Investments, Growth and Expansion of Business Enterprises in Uganda.en_US
