    Abstract
Many farmers cannot fathom the idea of managing and monitoring their different stores in different areas within Uganda. However, most of them resort to hiring store managers in the name of independence and convenience who in the end cannot do effective monitoring of the store conditions in terms of favorable conditions for the stored grains. Smart Grain Storage System is a specially designed system that comprises of an Arduino Uno which processes sensor readings, a DHT 11 sensor that captures both temperature and humidity of the grains at a given time, an LCD screen used that displays various parameters for operator information, a GSM module that aids in the upload of data on an IOT platform, an IOT platform known as ThingSpeak that can be used to store data(strings, decimals, integers,…) from sensors and other IOT connected devices. A DBMS that holds our database used to store data downloaded from ThingSpeak, a web user interface that the user interacts with to view the state of his store, as well as check out recommendations from the system where need be, add or delete a store. The design technique and features of the system are discussed. Results of a Smart grain storage system side-by-side field test are presented in the report. This Project Report describes the design, development and implementation of a Smart Grain Storage System, a Real-time System designed to provide farmers with information about their various stores, the state they are in and the course of action to be taken where need be.
