Today’s technological advancement has made the world a global village. Transfer of information from one place to another has become very swift in that it takes less than a minute for a person in a rural village in Uganda to access current affairs in a first world city like New York. However, technological advancement especially in communication has come with both positive and negative impacts. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of social media in promoting homosexuality among the youth aged between 15-35 years and it looked at the extent to which the youth are exposed to homosexual content, their response to this content and how it has influenced their lives. The study was carried out in six parishes from the five divisions of Kampala district that is; Kampala City in the Central Division, Kabuusu in Rubaga, Kabalagala in Makindye, Kamwokya II and Kisenyi I in Central Division and Nakawa in Nakawa Division. The sample of the study was selected in different parishes because study informants were highly scattered within Kampala. The respondents of the study were 30 in total and they included 6 homosexual youths, 20 non-homosexual youths, 2 media practitioners, and 2 people working amongst homosexuals. The key findings of the study were that the youth in Kampala often access homosexuality content on social media especially Whatsaap and when they access it for the first time, they are curious to know what happens and therefore they read or watch it, some of them forward it to friends, store it for future use or even try it out practically. Some youth have been recruited into homosexual activities through social media. Therefore, the researcher recommended that the government should be committed in addressing homosexuality and its potential negative consequences, put up strong measures to regulate the use of social media and community and religious leaders should endevour to educate the youth about the dangers of homosexuality.en_US
