Waste Monitoring System

Waste management refers to the activities and actions required to manage waste from its origin to its final disposal. This incorporates in addition to other things, collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste together with monitoring and regulation. These waste are resulting in tremendous land and air pollution for the environment, it creates unhygienic condition for surrounding environment and creates bad smell which can lead in spreading some deadly disease and human illness. Taken together, the problem of poor waste management is one of the nation’s biggest issues to date. The Current Waste management method is inefficient, time wasting and requires a huge amount of human energy. This is because the Waste collectors need to check whether the Trash Can is full not according to the fix schedule. To solve this problem of poor waste management, I have developed an IOT based Waste Monitoring System which will help to notify waste collectors whether Trash Can is empty or full through the webserver and they will be able to know the status of their ‘Trash Can’ from anywhere in the world over the Internet. It will be very useful and is expected that it will create a greener environment. The system consists of ultrasonic sensors which measures the Waste level, an Arduino microcontroller which controls system operation whereas everything will be connected to ESP8266 WIFI Module which communicates with the Web Sever.
