dc.description.abstractWorld over, It is well acknowledged that Adolescence is a distinct phase of the developmental life cycle in humans. Adolescence is lasting longer than ever and new discoveries make this time of life crucial in determining a person's ultimate success and happiness which has to changes in the way to parent, educate, and understand young people such as new strategies for instilling resilience, self-esteem, self-efficacy, and other beneficial traits among young people. The aim of the study was to “determine the correlation between self-esteem and self-efficacy among adolescent students.” The specific objectives of the study were to: assess the level of self-esteem among adolescent students and also the level of self-efficacy among adolescent students. The study was undertaken in senior one of Caltec Academy Makerere. Random sampling was used in the study to obtain quantitative information form primary respondents with data collection methods of surveys and document review of related documents. This was analyzed through descriptive, inferential statistics and Pearson’s correlation. The Pearson's correlation was used to determine the relationship between the level of self-esteem and self-efficacy among the adolescents and the results depicted that there is a week, a negative correlation which was statistically significant with the Pearson’s correlation coefficient, rs, = - 0.277 and that this is statistically significant (p = .005). And it should be noted that there is a relationship between self-esteem and self-efficacy but this doesn’t necessarily imply causation.en_US
