A project report submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Information Systems of Makerere Universityen_US
The study highlights the various game names used to refer to pool table, and also mentions the type of people who engaged in the game in the past days. It also shows the main study objective, its specific objectives, scope and the study significance. During the study, the researchers reviewed the literature, theoretical and conceptual frameworks of both related systems and the newly built system. The findings from the different pool table game versions and the reviewed related systems that include Snooker score counter and Fantasy football are further explained. The systems’ operation is explicitly expounded and critiqued where loopholes were identified. A comparative evaluation of the developed system with the existing gaming applications was done to reveal the adjustments made in the newly developed application and a conclusion made to show the case for its development. The system of methods and activities used in this study are explained to elaborate how the required support data was collected. Sampling is identified as the mainly deployed method. The various techniques used are also identified and explained on how they were used by the research team in the field. Highlights are made on the results of evaluation conducted on the mode of operation of similar applications, the analysis and design of the Pool Table Umpire application. Highlighted also is how the SDLC stages were followed throughout the project lifetime. This includes a system study, report on the data analysis results from the various respondents and a conclusion based on the collected data findings. An explanation is done on the implementation process of the umpire application including the various tools used, the system testing and Validation processes. It expounds on the results from the implementation regarding the actual system functionality versus the expected functionality. Finally, a discussion while reflecting on the study objectives is presented. It involves a conclusion subsection that discusses the project outcome in terms of skills gained and challenges faced. The discussion concludes with recommendations and suggests future research towards bettering the developed umpire application for bigger functionality possibilities and technology upgrades.en_US
