dc.description.abstractA process to obtain high purity isoamyl alcohol from fusel oil was designed by drawing block and process flow diagrams, simulation using CHEMCAD software.The purity of isoamyl alcohol obtained was 99.5%. Sizing of equipment was done, distillation column 1 required 16 actual stages while distillation column 2 required 36. Pumps with power of 19.3W, 40.4W and 42.2W were required. The estimated capital cost of the plant was 82,686 USD.en_US
