Coca Cola Uganda is a beverage manufacturer and therefore also produces plastic waste indirectly too. The company set up a recycling plant called Plastic Recycling Industries in Nakawa, strategically to manage the large volume of plastic waste that was being produced by their beverage consumers. The purpose of this project was to develop the COCA COLA GREEN REWARDS mobile web app that helps to increase on the number of people participating in plastic waste collection. The coca cola green rewards is a mobile web application that has been developed to be used by Coca cola recycling plant as well as all plastic bottle collectors and agents .the application enables bottle collectors to easily contact agents on the accumulated wastes that needs [to be picked which attracts more people to participate in plastic bottle collection because the method is effective and efficient. Various data collection techniques which included interviews, observation, and document review were employed to review the systems and methods that Coca Cola recycling plant uses to collect plastic waste. SPSS was used in the analysis of the data collection findings. Structured design components such as use case diagrams and Entity Relationship Diagrams are the techniques that were used to design the coca cola green rewards app for coca cola recycling plant. The application was implemented using different tools. The web component was implemented using HTML (hypertext markup language), CSS (cascading style sheet), JavaScript and PHP (hypertext preprocessor). MySQL which stands for my structured query language was used in implementing the database system. It was used because it is simple to be used, portable and could be installed and be used on almost all operating systems. The system was tested using the unit, system and integrated testing methods. It was then validated a questionnaire and thereafter results analyzed using SPSS to ensure that it functioned according to the functional and non-functional requirements that had been initially determined. As far as recommendations are concerned , due to the fact that this study was focused on improving the process of plastic waste collection for PRI plastic collectors, it is advisable for any future research that is related to plastic waste management to lobby for project funding by other partner organizations that are interested in fighting plastic waste pollution in the environment since it is a trending global issue especially in Developing Countries like Uganda where there are weak policies against plastic pollution.en_US
