    Abstract
This study looked at the factors affecting the uptake of family planning in Kigezi region. The general objective of the study is to describe the factors that influence the uptake of FP services including identifying the demographic factors and establishing the socio-cultural factors which influence the uptake of FP services. Secondary data from a National Household Survey, (the UDHS) was extracted for analysis. The variables of interest included age, education level, number of living children, ethnicity and religion. Univariate analysis using frequencies and percentages was adopted then bivariate analysis was used to explore for relationship between FP uptake and potential determinants. The chi-square test was used. Factors that were statistically significant at bivariate analysis were included in multivariate logistic regression model.
