Membrane process, a relatively new technology among other available technologies, can be used to separate carbon dioxide from other components of the flue gas. Different mathematical models have described membrane performance over the years. In this project, a simple mathematical model has been suggested in order to design a membrane system for carbon dioxide and nitrogen (major flue gas components) separation. Parameter sensitivities, the operating conditions and membrane properties are changed to capture 90% or more of the carbon dioxide in the flue gas.
