    Effects of refugee settlement on the livelihood of the women: A case of Rhino Camp, Arua District, Northern Uganda

    Abstract
    The study was on impacts of refugee resettlements on the livelihood of women in Rhino camp Arua district, northern Uganda. The main purpose of the study was to examine the both the positive and negative effects of refugee resettlements on the livelihood of women (host and refugees). The research qualitative research approach and data collection from a sample of 150 respondents. The data collection methods were both questionnaire and interview, the results of the study revealed that women are affected positively and negatively with the refugee resettlements in Rhino camp, there were changes in the activities and roles traditionally performed by women, challenges women faced as a results of the refugee resettlement, prevalence of news diseases. There were proposed and suggested solutions to create mutual relationship and integration between host community women and the refugee women. There is significance in the study of impacts of refugee resettlements on the livelihood of women in refugee camps.
