An investigation into the current status of conservation of selected fabric of Jinja municipality.
Abstract
The research was basically done to identify strategies used in the conservation of heritages and find possible solutions of how best to revitalize them in Uganda taking Jinja Municipality as a case study. Solutions provided were as a result of the investigation made into the current status of conservation of these sites and identified loopholes.
Chapter one comprises of the introduction to the research which is categorized into introduction and background information to the topic and site of study, statement of the problem, objectives, research questions , key terms used, scope, significance and justification of the study.
Chapter two has a composition of the literature review. the literature gives a view about heritages and their conservation according to the already available information from other researchers. it looks at the principals, policies and conservations used in the conservation and maintenance of the heritages from a broader view. this chapter further more provides detailed researched information about Jinja as a heritage and identifies the various heritages, challenges faced by the sites and importance of conserving them.
Chapter three contains the methodology employed in the data collection about the topic of study and the research design. this includes also the sample size, data collection methods, analysis and ethical issues. it also contains the challenges faced by the researcher.
Chapter four comprise of the research findings as based on the objectives of the study through data analysis.
Chapter five provides for the conclusions and recommendations derived by the researcher basing on the findings identified.
