A project report submitted to the East African School of Library and Information science in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of bachelor of library and information sciences of Makerere Universityen_US
The project entails developing a Results complaint system for the East African School of Library and Information Science to enable students to lodge their complaints and get timely feedback from the Lecturers. The project therefore aimed at modelling and implementing a system that will lessen the work of the Lecturers and limit the students’ physical interaction with the Lecturers since most of the complaint information will be available on the system. This project aims at collaborating with the manual system in existence in order to simplify the results complaint process. The researchers employed questionnaire and interview techniques in order to collect data from the selected sample population, which included students and lecturers at the East African School of Library and Information Science. The research findings indicated that majority of the students were not satisfied with the way complaints are handled at the East African School of Library and Information Science. Challenges to the manual system include delayed feedback, missing reports since the system is paper-based, tracking difficulty where the student has to physically come to the School and ask the concerned personnel about the progress of the complaint. The system developed therefore aims at solving the challenges associated with the manual system at the School.en_US
