dc.description.abstractThe study will intend to focus on how the abstract sculpture can easily portray the information to the viewers and the perception people have on them, basing on the sculpture at Margret Trowell School of industrial and fine arts ( MTSIFA ). The study will be guided by the main objective/purpose and the five general objectives Purpose  To find out how the students at MTSIFA perceive abstract sculpture or they find it as an escape from realistic sculpture pieces.  General objectives  To examine the importance of abstract sculpture to MTSIFA students and the public at large.  To analyse the originality of abstract sculpture and who introduced it in the world.  To examine the reasons to why at MTSIFA there are more abstract sculpture pieces than realistic sculpture pieces.  To investigate the concept behind the abstract sculpture pieces at MTSIFA Makerere University. To analyze the techniques used by MTSIFA students to come up with abstract sculpture pieces. Personal interview and observation will be used to gather data for the study; here, I will take time to critically observe the sculpture around MTSIFA and others outside and then personal interview, I will interact with sculpture students around MTSIFA, lecturers, and people outside. Chapter 1 covers the introduction, background to the study, statement of the problem and objectives of the study. There is also research questions, scope of the study, significance of the study and limitations. The study will focus on how the abstract sculpture can easily portray the information to the viewers and the perception people have on them, basing on the sculpture at Margaret Trowell School of industrial and fine arts (MTSIFA ). Chapter two is the literature review which contains critical information facts and options of various writers, academicians and research about sculpture mainly abstract at Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts (MTSIFA). Chapter 3 presents the introduction about the methods to be used in the study i.e. observation, written literature and interviewing, research design, area of study, and target population. There is also data collection techniques, data analysis methods, reliability and validity of the study.en_US
