This study sought to examine the factors affecting the uptake of mobile micro insurance through MTN, particularly individuals in the informal sector within Wandegeya. A self-administered questionnaire was used in obtaining the data on factors affecting uptake of mobile micro insurance through MTN and the data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2013 for frequency analysis and Stata 15.0 software for running the logistic regression. In the univariate analysis, a total of 96 individuals participated in the study, with 40 males (41.67%) and 56 females (58.33%) taking part. According to the results obtained, 27 individuals (28.13%) had mobile micro insurance through MTN whereas 69 individuals (71.88%) did not have mobile micro insurance. Under bivariate analysis, the variables gender, education level, employment status, income level, heard of Ayo insurance with MTN and means of knowing about Ayo insurance with MTN had a relatively significant impact on the uptake of mobile micro insurance through MTN. From the multivariate analysis, uptake of mobile micro insurance was directly influenced by employment status (OR=0.19). Despite the fact that majority of the individuals thought that mobile micro insurance through MTN was a good idea, most of them had not signed up for it. From this study, there is need for the right measures to be taken to increase sensitization among individuals in the informal sector and also stake holders should target people who are employed to take up mobile micro insurance.en_US
