dc.description.abstractThis study examines the effectiveness of symbolism in tooro folktales.The general objective of the study was to asses the effectiveness of symbolism in coveying the message.This was achieved through content analysis of the selected folktales with particular symbols.For example fire,spear and the drum. In chapter one the researcher highlights the background of tooro society and the nature of performance of the folktales in tooro , problem statement and the scoop of the study . In chapter two , review of some related literature in regards to the objective objectives, and the study annalysed general significance of symbols in folktales. Chapter three the discussion focuses on the significance of symbolism and symbols in the selected tooro folktales and their subject matter respectively .The last chapter (4) summarizes the folktales in the native tooro language and English.en_US
