In today’s world, energy sources like the fossil fuels are depleting at a faster rate and the automotive industry serves to raise hundreds of environmental concerns. As a result, the innovation of Zero emission serves to address the above concerns. This electric motorcycle project is therefore, aimed at providing alternative transport mode and protecting the environment from pollution and its effects. The electric motorcycle will be run on batteries which will supply power to the motor which then drives the behind wheel of the electric bike. The design features of this motorcycle are user friendliness, economical and relatively cheap as well as being highly efficient. It also works towards reducing accident rates in countries where the motorcycle industry dominates by allowing its drive to only a maximum of 80km/h. As for the electrical engineering team, our work was to formulate the main electrical circuit of the electric motorcycle, research and propose the best battery technology and battery rating suitable for the electric motorcycle, research and determine the most suitable motor type, motor rating for the electric motorcycle and propose the best motor controller specifications, design the electric motorcycle buck converter, formulate the 12V lightning system main circuit plus horn circuit, construct the brake light circuitry of the motorcycle, and design and construct the display system. The first chapter of this report consists of the project background, problem statement, aims and objectives, contributions of the project, and organization of the report The second chapter gives the literature related to the work we did on the project. It gives a theoretical base for the study and helps the reader determine the nature of the practical work we did while working on this project. The third chapter I addressed the design and electric motorcycle circuits we formulated and constructed, including the relevant results and findings for the different circuits. Finally, the report comprises of the conclusions and recommendations suggested by me based on my experiences and observations.en_US
