This research specifically deals with the use of imagery in the selected Acholi riddles. The study will therefore ascertain the fact that riddles are very rich in terms of how they use language which further leads to the development of different themes or ideas like other oral forms. The study also reveals that Acholi riddles are characterized by figures of speech and other techniques that bring the imagery to life hence creating it. The study also reveals that for one to be able to analyze and understand the imagery employed in the different riddles and to be able to respond to them appropriately, one must be familiar with their ordinary surrounding because riddles give vivid visual impressions and in particular those about the natural world indicating close observation.en_US
