This report contains information about development and performance evaluation of carbonized chicken litter briquettes. This involved determining the thermal properties of chicken litter as a potential alternative biomass for briquetting, construction of carbonizer machine to use in carbonizing chicken liter and carrying out a performance evaluation on the briquettes that were developed. The constructed machine was manually operated however a modification of the machine has also been designed using solidworks with the necessary specifications as seen in chapter 5 of this report. The constructed machine works on the basis of separating the combustion chamber from the carbonizing material while providing rotary motion to the carbonizing biomass at a desired interval preferably every after 30minutes in the start and 10minutes towards the end. Carbonizing of biomass has been ongoing in Uganda however it has been quite complicated to carbonize chicken litter due to the crumps it forms, which leaves the litter with no air gaps hence poor aeration that could not allow the existing carbonizers to carbonize the chicken litter freely. It contains five chapters with each chapter well organized and the content of those chapters are as seen in the table of contents.en_US
