This research examined the factors affecting maize production in Uganda, Namizzi parish, Jinja district. A cross sectional data were collected from a sample of 80 maize farmers I the parish which were randomly selected and interviewed using standardized questionnaires. The findings were analyzed using spss computer software and the study show that the farmer’s characteristics such as sex, age have a positive relation with maize production while marital status has no relation with maize production. The factors such as regularity to rainfall, accessibility to market, education level and farming methods were analyzed using Pearson correlation against the maize production and the findings show that there was no relation between the factors and maize production. The government should solve the factor of accessibility to market by improving on the infrastructures such as roads, market centers and the government should also organize training programs for the farmers to enable them develop more effective marketing strategies and to negotiate more effectively with the traders thereby to raise the price of maize.en_US
