Rapid urbanization in the world has increased the demand of public transport and for the case of Kampala city, there are different modes of public transport that are used namely; taxis, buses, boda bodas, railway however the infrastructure for these modes is still in a sorry state. Taxis are the most common used modes of public transport in the city with this, more taxi stages have been established whereby some are located inappropriate and wrong places thus increasing more problems such as traffic congestion, road accidents, and delays, however Kampala Capital city Authority has tried to encourage taxi drivers to stop establishing taxi stages in wrong places but all in vein illegal and informal taxi stages still exist. Therefore this forms the basis of the study to analyze the spatial distribution of commuter taxi stages in the CBD. Various research methods and approaches have been used to gather all the needed information and these include direct observation, dairy strategy, interview, and questioner, photography, mapping and sketching. This report contains five chapters namely; introduction and background of the study, literature review, research methodology, data presentation, analysis and discussion, conclusion and recommendations.en_US
