Wireless capacitive sensor for fluid level monitoring with indicator
Abstract
Monitoring and recording physical conditions of the environment and organizing of collected data using low consuming devices is the current big thing. These sensor devices that are able to interact with wireless networks like mobile phones for example for vehicle location monitoring, computerized motion sensing systems, sensor monitoring in fluid tanks among others. Most of these utilize the technological developments and improvements of the smartphone network. However they inadequately bridge the gap between the complex signal processing imported equipment and the simple locally available equipment making the country heavily relay on the imported services. This bachelor project report presents an Android application that works together with an androids smartphone of version 5 or higher that helps to visualize obtained data from any sensor (in this report, a Capacitive Sensor). The communication between the phone and the Capacitive Sensor is made possible through the use of Bluetooth based wireless connection. For this reason, there is no internet connection needed to process the obtained data and make it more appealing. An indicator is included thus the birth of a Wireless Capacitive Sensor for Fluid level Monitoring with an Indicator.
