Abstract
With the continuous strengthening of China-Uganda relations, the study of Chinese in Uganda has become an increasingly significant topic in education and social development. This research examines the importance of learning Chinese in Uganda and analyzes the opportunities and challenges it presents. On the one hand, Chinese language acquisition enhances economic cooperation, improves employment competitiveness, and provides Ugandan students with expanded educational exchange and scholarship opportunities. It also opens new avenues for cultural industries and fosters deeper cross-cultural understandings. On the other hand, opportunities include employment prospects in Chinese enterprises, possibilities for overseas study, and broader cultural engagement. However, challenges remain, such as limited language environment, insufficient teaching staff, scarce learning resources, and difficulties in cultural adaptation. The study concludes that by strengthening Chinese language education, expanding cooperation channels, and enhancing cross-cultural communication, Uganda can better integrate into global development while contributing to mutual understanding and collaboration between the two nations.
