dc.description.abstract The government of Uganda among the various stakeholders in the furniture industry invest heavily annually in empowering local manufacturing in the sector. This is evident in the development of training institutions all around the country. These have not only empowered the trainees with practical design skills, they have introduced them to a whole new way of design thinking especially in the furniture design sector. The growth of the training institutions makes sense as many, developed and developing, look to more investment to benefit from the ever growing global market.
