dc.description.abstractMusic is used to express Praise and worship to God among Christians. Indeed, music is used in the Christianity in various styles and forms across the various Christian religions. In recent years, however, many youth have moved to Pentecostal churches in preference to other churches. Therefore, the purpose this study was to investigate how music has been used in attracting youth to Pentecostal churched in Uganda and helped in retaining them. The study found that the kind of music used in the Pentecostal churches is contemporary in nature which appeals to the youth thus attracting and retaining them in Pentecostal churches. The study also established that other factors such as performing miracles and social activities among others have helped in the attraction and retaining of the youth in these. The researcher recommends that as Pentecostal focus on increasing the number of their influence in Uganda as a way of causing meaningful change they should create avenues of accountability for these youth and the church and also inspire change in the style of worship. The researcher further recommends training musicianship and professionalism in order to maintain quality in of Church music.en_US
