The number of TikTok users in Uganda-- since 2022 when it gained popularity- is growing day by day therefore providing hence a wider platform for upcoming musicians who wish to show off their musical talents and promote their music in so doing. In this dissertation, through carrying out research; both armchair and actual fieldwork, it is observed that there is an impact TikTok has left on the musicians using this social media application. The research methodology adopted is mainly qualitative in nature and generates non-numerical data which seeks to understand people's beliefs, experiences, behaviour, and interactions. I also try to discuss what the term “upcoming musician” entails and analyse what different authors’ views on it. I then present and discuss my findings from fieldwork in relation to my research topic.en_US
